A New Spring / Paul Segard

For the rue des capucins, the theme requests were references to the ducasse, while emphasising an aspect of gaiety and positivity. Paul Segard therefore chose not to tackle the theme of the ducasse head-on and to focus his work on a poetic and resolutely positive message. A child sitting on a flowering tree chatting to a bird. He called this piece ‘A New Spring’, in reference to a rebirth and renewal in nature. The Capucin district is an area in transition towards a new positive dynamic. The references to the ducasse are very present, but they are hidden in the details, so that the work becomes an invitation for the viewer to dive in and discover them.
