Suspended instant / Laurence Vray
Rue d'Enghien, 19 - 7000 Mons

Laurence Vray is a photographer with an ‘intimate’ sensibility - far removed from the glitz and glamour of fashion. She proceeds, with as much rigour as restraint, to reveal a possible intimacy with the world. The lightness of her gaze is serious and the seriousness of her views is light. In this way, by means of a paradox whose secret she has been working on for a long time, she composes with assiduous simplicity: a work for peace.
Laurence, an artist from Montpellier, captures the intimate and the light-hearted and transmits it to us. She works on the theme of water and mother waters. A veritable silent swim, this series offers us a solitary interlude exploring the resonances of water, its courses and flows. The photographer plays on the oppositions between presence and absence, solitude and companionship, femininity and masculinity, fragility and inalterability of this original element. The focus is also on the mother waters, where time is not yet linear, where light still plays with its shadows between the uterine walls, where life is in a purely amorous relationship...
