Rondom de onmisbare figuur van David Hockney brengt het evenement werken samen van grote kunstenaars zoals Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) en Edvard Munch (1863-1944), evenals een selectie doeken van symbolistische schilders. Hun landschapsvoorstellingen sluiten aan bij de universele thema’s die Mahler aansnijdt: de schoonheid van de seizoenen, de eeuwige cyclus van het leven en de melancholie die met de menselijke conditie verbonden is.
Deze uitzonderlijke tentoonstelling nodigt de bezoeker uit tot een esthetische en spirituele reis, waar kunst en natuur elkaar ontmoeten om de plaats van de mens ten opzichte van de tijd en de eindigheid te bevragen.
