Unprecedented in Belgium, this project brings together and unifies the UNESCO heritage of Mons and its region through a partnership with the Belgian Commission for UNESCO, the Mundaneum, and the Grand-Hornu site.
All information regarding UNESCO and its heritage is now gathered in one place. Unique in Belgium, the Heritage House offers both the general public and schools a gateway to the twenty sites, buildings, and intangible heritage recognized in the province of Hainaut. Moreover, the associative and civic dimension is also at the heart of this ambitious project: the UNESCO Heritage House carries the strong ambition of (re)placing heritage in the hands of as many people as possible.
Open to experimentation, the site will offer workshops, conferences, and meetings in partnership with the Belgian Commission for UNESCO and various recognized heritage sites. For citizens, artists, and the forty regional associations already active in the field, the Heritage House will provide exchange spaces and shared facilities to create a collective dynamic that is accessible to all.

The exceptional heritage of Hainaut was missing a unique place for discovery and exchange, open to both curious visitors and enthusiasts and professionals of Art and History. From the Doudou, to the Mundaneum, the Grand-Hornu site, the craftsmanship of the carillonneurs, the Neolithic flint mines of Spiennes, and the Belfry of Mons, the public can now find all the information about UNESCO and its heritage in the region in one place.
