SILEX’S invites you on a journey through Neolithic history, where you can discover the techniques used by our ancestors to extract and shape flint. A unique collection of flint tools, ancient artifacts, and faithful replicas reveals the craftsmanship of prehistoric societies.
Extend your discovery tour with a descent into a Neolithic mine shaft, up to 10 metres deep, accompanied by a guide.

Discover the latest archaeological finds from the site, including human remains, fossilized pollen, and flint artifacts, through an engaging photo exhibition curated by AWAP.
Make the visit even more engaging for young visitors with special activity booklets designed for ages 4-6 and 7-11, available for free at the reception.
Explore the prehistoric landscapes surrounding the site with four family-friendly walking trails. Free maps available at the reception and on www.silexs.mons.be.

A small museum about the neolithic mines if you're interested in this area. You can book online to visit part of the mines for a guide, which would be of more interest to people
Vriendelijk aan de kassa maar veel was er niet te zien + weinig originele voorwerpen. Voor de mijn heb je reservatie nodig, die hebben we dus ook nie gedaan.
Het ligt op een mooie plek en de informatie ruimte is overzichtelijk en we kregen volop informatie van de begeleider. We gingen in de vuursteengrot, er werden voorzorgsmaatregelen genomen. Maar er was beneden ruimte, we hadden verwacht een wandeling door de grotten te krijgen.
They do not sell tickets to the mine but to the small museum. Very dishonest.
The site is peculiar to better understand the development of flint cutters in Palaeolithic Europe. A real added value is the visit of the museum with a local guide, including the descend into one of the mines with proper safety equipment. Our guide was very acknowledgeable and she made the tour very pleasant. Make sure to book in advance if you wish to descend into the mine, as the excursion takes place once or twice a day only.
