About
Languages
The CAP is a museum complex in the heart of downtown Mons, consisting of 3 entities:
- The Collections House
- The Museum of Fine Arts, offering temporary exhibitions highlighting the city's collections;
- The "Buttery pear Tree" garden, combining a stone collection, social spaces, and permaculture, linking the first two entities.
Located in the recently renovated house of Jean Lescarts, the Collections House aims to introduce visitors to the history of Mons through the lens of the town’s municipal collections.
From prehistory to the present day, a hundred pieces punctuate the thematic-chronological journey, with a focus on the history and heritage of Mons, as well as the societal issues that affect us all.
The Collections House seeks to emphasize the importance of memory and the transmission of heritage in shaping the evolution of a city. It also offers a space for dialogue and citizen participation, the Labo room.
