Anthony’s street food spots to discover with family or friends ✨

At the start of the year, I wanted to share a few street food spots 🍔🍕 to experience some cuisines in a different way than going to a restaurant. It’s usually cheaper than a restaurant 🍽️, making it a great way to start the year while treating yourself 😋.

It’s a great opportunity to find a spot for a quick lunch break 🕒.
The street food places I’m sharing today are mostly spots that offer homemade dishes 🍳, some locally sourced 🌱, and high-quality products that will delight your taste buds.

AP Pizza

Grand'Rue, 61- 7000 Mons

This Italian street food spot 🇮🇹, just a few steps from the pedestrian area and Primark, offers deliciously reimagined Italian cuisine.
Antonio, the owner, travels to Italy every year for the pizza championship 🍕.
He has won several awards, including Best Neapolitan Pizza in Belgium.
In addition to pizzas, you absolutely have to try a few specialties you can only find here: the bomba (burrata wrapped in pizza dough and deep-fried) and fried lasagna 🍝.

Papou

Grand'rue, 70 - 7000 Mons

This Greek street food spot 🇬🇷, located just across from AP Pizza 🍕, is a place that takes you on a culinary journey.
Every time, it’s a real treat to enjoy the flavors of Greece, reminiscent of a holiday 🌞. The photos speak for themselves.
I can never resist a glass of white retsina to accompany the dishes, whether dining in or taking away.

Côcoï

Rue du Miroir, 3 - 7000 Mons

This spot offers Vietnamese street food 🍜 on a street that’s increasingly popular, just steps from the Grand-Place.

At lunchtime, I love having a banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich) 🥪, which is only available at midday, for your information.

Here, you can enjoy pho, bun, thit kho, banh mi, com trung o’plat, among other dishes… all in a friendly, family atmosphere. It’s one of my brother’s favorite spots 👌.

New Saveurs d'Asie

Rue du Miroir, 1 - 7000 Mons

The first time my friend Adélaïde introduced me to this spot, I was a bit skeptical, to be honest, but I trusted her completely.
I absolutely did not regret trying this place, which offers a gentle and authentic experience—it’s actually a must-visit for the people of Mons ✨💛

Dao Guo

Rue des Fripiers, 14 - 7000 Mons

From the very first service, Aline established her own style and vision of Chinese cuisine.
She works with her family and offers 100% homemade dishes. From the start, it has been a real success, which is driving her to open her second food spot very soon, in February 2026, on Rue des Fripiers (the street with colorful cobblestones).
She will open a Chinese hotpot restaurant, Dao Guo Hotpot. At Dao Guo, you can enjoy both the house classics and the daily specials 🍲✨

Yoyo

Rue d'Havré, 14 - 7000 Mons

They offer ramen and gua bao, which are the two house specialties.
As for the ramen, there are three types: Japanese ramen, Chinese ramen, and Korean ramen. It’s up to you to choose your favorite.
From time to time, fun specials are added to showcase creative dishes, like the foie gras bao and the salmon-peanut ramen ✨😋

Tomo Ramen

Rue d'Enghien, 11 - 7000 Mons

The young owner, 21 years old, has been established for two years on Rue d’Enghien in Mons.
I want to congratulate him, because opening a business at 19 is no easy feat, especially in a big city. Jianyi has managed to build a loyal young clientele, who have made it their go-to spot.
It’s especially nice in the summer to enjoy the quiet terrace, just a few steps from Mons’ Grand-Place ☀️✨

Pastella/Melanza

Avenue Frère Orban, 4 - 7000 Mons

Tommaso & Alèn, two friends and business partners, have turned their restaurants into a true success story in Wallonia.
For your information, Pastella was named Belgium’s best restaurant at the Takeaway Awards for the third consecutive year.
At Pastella, you can enjoy pasta served in an edible pizza-dough plate, shaped like a star ⭐.
At Melanza, you can savor delicious pizzas 🍕.
On Avenue Frère Orban, it’s even possible to enjoy both concepts, as both restaurants are located at the same address.

Donrolls

Grand'rue, 110/2 - 7000 Mons

For a few weeks now, this well-known sushi spot has moved from Rue Bertaimont to the Grand-Rue, allowing them to now welcome us for dine-in experiences in their restaurant space.
At Donrolls, the menu includes sushi, poke bowls, donburi, shio ramen, yakisoba…
It’s a spot my sister absolutely loves: she goes there regularly after a shopping session in the city center 🛍️✨

Moderna - Le comptoir à pizza

Rue d'Havré, 37 - 7000 Mons

Right next to the Grand-Place parking lot, you’ll find Antonio and his wife Sara behind the stove.
They offer pizza al taglio as well as in teglia, available on order. You can also enjoy panzerotti, schiacciata, and other creations inspired by the chef.
A big plus for this spot: they offer various cooking workshops to learn Italian cuisine 🇮🇹✨

Monkeo

Grand-Place - 7000 Mons

Here, on our beautiful Grand-Place, the Italian spot offers various classic dishes: pizza al taglio, arancini, puccia, polpette cones, as well as sliced charcuterie and cheeses.
In addition to dining in or taking away, you can also enjoy the cuisine from Monkeo right across the street at Hyde & Berg (a wine, beer, and bubbles bar), since it’s run by the same owners 🍷✨

Waves Burger

Rue de la Chaussée, 23 - 7000 Mons

If you love burgers, this spot is made for you! Here, you won’t find regular hamburgers, but smashburgers.
What’s the difference? The beef patty is smashed on a griddle to caramelize a larger surface while cooking, giving it a unique flavor and texture 😋.
For those who have never tried a smashburger, you know what to do… and on top of that, their homemade fries are absolutely incredible 🍟✨

Bagel City

Rue de la Chaussée, 19 - 7000 Mons

The bagel travels through different countries and continents for our greatest pleasure: Bagel Dallas, Bagel London, Bagel New York, Bagel Oslo, Bagel Milano, Bagel Roma, Bagel Brussels…
The bagels are served hot and generously filled 🥯.
After discovering Bagel City, you’ll never look at bagels the same way again 🌍✨

Sushi Lover

Rue de la Chaussée, 4 - 7000 Mons

Sushi Lover moved a few months ago to a much more modern and spacious location.
The building was completely renovated, inside and out, to offer a very pleasant setting ✨.
Of course, they serve sushi, but there are also other options for those who aren’t fans: sashimi, chirashi, bento, noodles… 🍜

Buga Ramen

Place Léopold - 7000 Mons

This is the very latest street food spot, recently opened on Place Léopold, right across from Mons train station.
The place has 90 seats in a manga-themed universe 🎎, featuring Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and more.
You can enjoy ramen and bao 🍜.
This spot promises to transform the area around Mons station, attracting many families and young people ✨.
