Ville de Mons_Oswald Tlr.Mons Town Hall, a jewel of 15th-century Gothic architecture, is one of the city’s must-see historical landmarks. Built between 1458 and 1477, and later completed with the addition of its belfry in 1717–1718, it has embodied the civic and administrative life of the city of Mons for centuries.
Inside, the historic rooms of Mons Town Hall offer a true journey through time. The Wedding Hall, the Commission Room, the Portrait Gallery and the State Room reflect the artistic and institutional richness of the building across several centuries of history.
The Mayor’s Garden, a true haven of peace in the very heart of Mons city centre, harmoniously completes this exceptional heritage site.
In 2022, a major heritage restoration project restored the rooms and collections to their former glory, while creating an immersive visitor route. Today, Mons Town Hall is open to visitors all year round, offering a unique cultural experience at the heart of Belgian heritage.
