Léon Losseau (1869-1949) was a lawyer from Mons, bibliophile, photographer, member of many learned societies. This intellectual turned his house into a jewel of Art Nouveau, with every conceivable comfort in his time. Today, passers-by are often intrigued by the lavishly decorated portal of the town house. Few of them suspect that by crossing the metal doors adorned with fuchsia patterns, they will be thrown into a poetic garden populated with orchids and wisteria, which are present from floor to ceiling in every room of the house. The residence is unique thanks to the talents of architects, decorators and craftsmen chosen by its owner (Paul Saintenoy, Henri Sauvage, Emile Gallé, etc.). Part of the List of Exceptional Heritage of Wallonia, it underwent important restoration and development work commissioned by the Province of Hainaut. In summer, the garden is a green oasis to stroll in on weekends hosted by the Guinguette litteraire.

On était bien accueilli.
