In March 1879, Vincent van Gogh mentioned for the first time the house located at 81, rue du Petit Wasmes, now rue Wilson in Colfontaine. The house belonged to a baker named Jean-Baptiste Denis and played a key role in the artist’s life. The site is not a museum; there are no paintings or drawings by the artist, but a few scenographic elements and excerpts from letters Vincent wrote to his brother Theo. As an ideal starting point for walks, you can pick up a guide on-site providing information about various walks departing from the house. Since its renovation, the House Van Gogh now complements the "Van Gogh Europe" circuit, which includes all the places where the painter lived. In the Van Gogh shop, you will find: books, postcards, artisanal products (such as the beer "La nuit étoilée")...

Accueil toujours aussi agréable, lieu sympa avec régulièrement des expositions, se trouve à quelques mètres du charbonnage de Marcasse, lieu où Vincent Van Gogh est descendu sous terre

A visiter si vous êtes de passage, de très beaux paysages, chambre d'artiste et le puits dans lequel Vincent Van Gogh puisait son eau. Vidéo de présentation projetée dans la première salle.

La maison "Van Gogh" à Colfontaine, visite agréable. Vous découvrirez un lieu où Vincent Van Gogh a logé chez Jean Baptiste Denis (1825-1893). Mini jeux de piste avec des fiches pour les enfants. Lors de ballades à vélo, c est l'occasion de faire une halte. Visite de 30 minutes à 1 h. Il y a un étage à visiter, une salle de depuis septembre 2022.
