Excursion: School: Become an archaeologist for a day!
About the activity

The day begins with a screening of "Mary Anning”, inspired by the true story of a young fossil enthusiast. Pupils then take part in a hands-on workshop at the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences, where they step into the shoes of archaeologists and examine a prehistoric artefact.
The experience continues with a guided tour "Animal symbolism in the city of Mons", a fun and engaging walk through the animals, myths and legends that shape the city’s heritage.
An interactive adventure designed to spark curiosity about history, science and local heritage.
Programme of the excursion
- 9:00am: Welcome and screening of Mary Anning at Plaza Art House
- 11:00 am: Workshop In an Archaeologist’s Shoes at the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences
- 1:00 pm: Guided tour of the Mons Bestiary
- 3:00 pm: End of the day
