Looking to combine urban exploration with outstanding heritage? This day trip is just for you! Begin your day with an immersive guided tour through the charming historic heart of Mons. Discover architectural gems, quaint alleyways, and the fascinating stories that have shaped the city over the centuries. In the afternoon, enjoy a change of scenery as you head to the Castle of Belœil, nicknamed the "Belgian Versailles", a true jewel of Walloon heritage. Step into the elegant world of this princely residence, surrounded by splendid French-style gardens.
Programme of the excursion:
- 9.50am Welcome at visitMons (Grand-Place, 27 - 7000 Mons)
- 10am Guided tour of the Historical Heart
- 12pm Lunch in one of our partner restaurants
- 2pm Departure for Belœil aboard the group’s coach
- 3pm Guided tour of the Castle of Beloeil
- 5pm End of the programme

Amaryllis exhibition 2026 – Floral Power - 40 years in Beloeil
For this extra special edition, the Castle of Beloeil – a place intrinsically linked to flowers – once again partners with BE-FLORIST (the Royal Union of Belgian Florists), as it did over the past two years. From Saturday 4 to Sunday 12 April (10 am to 6 pm), visitors will travel through four decades of floral exhibitions in Beloeil.

La vue sur la ville est superbe et le spectacle des cloches sonnant depuis le clocher est fabuleux. Le personnel est également très attentionné. Point important, l'accès est facilité pour les personnes à mobilité réduite (même en fauteuil roulant) jusqu'à la plateforme d'observation située à l'avant-dernier étage, grâce à un ascenseur à l'intérieur de la tour qui permet d'accéder à une entrée dédiée depuis la rue adjacente. Cependant, se rendre dans la rue où se trouve le clocher n'est pas chose aisée ; le reste de la ville n'est pas très accessible aux personnes en fauteuil roulant. Je recommande donc de s'y rendre en voiture si possible.

Interessant om eens in de toren te gaan. Je kan met de lift en trap tot vlak onder de beiaard. Mooie uitzichten over de stad en uitleg over de toren en de bouw er van.

L'ancienne tour communale de la ville est inscrite au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, au même titre que d'autres tours wallonnes. À mon avis, c'est l'une des plus belles. On peut y monter moyennant un droit d'entrée, sauf le premier dimanche de chaque mois où l'accès est gratuit. Même ainsi, la vue à elle seule vaut le détour.
