The Doudou Museum showcases this exceptional heritage through various perspectives: historical, anthropological, scientific, artistic, secular, and religious. From the uniqueness of the Ducasse de Mons to the legend of Saint George, the museum focuses on understanding and highlighting the different aspects of this universal and centuries-old story. A journey through the museum allows visitors to understand and interpret this exceptional intangible heritage. The various exhibition spaces are structured around a central theme: Saint George and the Dragon, between imagination and reality.

Adaptation for visually impaired visitors

Visually impaired individuals who wish to enjoy a culturally adapted experience can visit the museum. Thanks to close collaboration with Les Amis des Aveugles, specific adaptations and museum guides in braille are provided.


At the Doudou Museum, embark on a journey to discover the key objects of the Doudou: the new golden lance, the teeth, the medallions, dragons, and the seal of Saint Waudru.

Nous avons visité ce chouette musée consacré à l’histoire montoise et à la tradition du Doudou. La visite est intéressante et permet d’en apprendre davantage sur la culture et les traditions de Mons. Nous avons toutefois trouvé le musée un peu vide, ce qui fait que la visite est assez rapide. En revanche, nous avons reçu un accueil vraiment chaleureux de la part de Maxime, qui a été très sympathique et n’a pas hésité à nous conseiller plusieurs adresses et endroits intéressants à découvrir dans la ville. Étant originaires de Bruxelles et venant à Mons pour la première fois, nous avons beaucoup apprécié ses conseils et sa gentillesse. Merci à Maxime pour cet excellent accueil ! 😊

Un musée très intéressant. Il est petit, mais il abrite de nombreuses pièces anciennes et une mine d'informations nouvelles sur l'histoire du festival Dudu.
