The Belfry of Mons, recognized by UNESCO since 1999, is an iconic landmark in the Mons landscape. As the only baroque belfry in Belgium, it stands as a remarkable architectural testimony. Inside, it houses an interpretation center dedicated to its history and its recognition as UNESCO heritage.
The permanent exhibition comes to life through multimedia displays called "windows of time," as well as through objects from the collections of Mons.
Located on the heights of Mons, the visit also offers an unmissable panoramic view of the city.

Mooi uitzicht. Binnen in het Belfort kan er geen raam open dus als het warm is , is het in de toren benauwd. Je kan een gedeelte met de lift omhoog,. omlaag is met een heel smal wenteltrapje naar beneden op

Une visite intéressante, notamment pour découvrir l’intérieur du beffroi et profiter de la belle vue sur Mons. Les carillons sont impressionnants à voir de près, mais attention aux oreilles : ils sonnent toutes les 15 minutes ! 🔔 En revanche, nous avons trouvé l’accueil assez peu chaleureux. La montée jusqu’au beffroi se mérite également : la rampe est assez longue et demande une bonne condition physique. 😅 Enfin, nous avons trouvé le prix du billet un peu élevé par rapport à ce qui est proposé. Malgré cela, la découverte du beffroi et la vue restent les points forts de la visite.
