Museum space and archive centre, the Mundaneum uses temporary exhibitions and activities to explore the unique project of its founders, Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine: universal knowledge for world peace!

Unique in its genre, the Mundaneum preserves a unique heritage recognized by the UNESCO. Archive center and space for temporary exhibitions, it highlights the legacy and ideas of its founders, the Nobel Peace Prize winner Henri La Fontaine and the father of documentation Paul Otlet. At the turn of the 20th century, these two Belgians devised a system for collecting, classifying and searching all of the world's knowledge. With a noble purpose: world peace.

Today confronted by the information society foreseen by its founders, the Mundaneum builds bridges between heritage and digital, between education and technology, between inner peace and the world around us. Temporary exhibitions, guided tours, digital devices, thematic conferences and workshops make the Mundaneum a crossroad of knowledge, from yesterday to tomorrow!

Nice grand idea about a world book repository, an interactive setup on the ground floor with archive and machine recognition. But it’s not soundproof and if there are kids, they disturb the whole building. I’d like the museum staff to supervise these kids and their parents, its not suitable for them really
