Rue de la Coupe, 38 - 7000 Mons
Artefacto is a cabinet of curiosities and a concept store filled with handpicked favourites and designer pieces. You’ll find brass wall decorations, more unusual objects, candles, T-shirts, and much more. It truly feels like an Aladdin’s cave. It’s the perfect shop for finding a small gift or treating yourself. You always enjoy visiting, and you could easily spend a long time there, as there’s so much to look at and discover.

Craving a bit of sunshine in your home? Then you’re in exactly the right place. Hélène and Sofian have successfully established their own style, their universe, their duo. Here, the Mediterranean comes to Mons, with hints of Italy, Morocco… and warm, uplifting good vibes. It’s a colourful brand that has built a strong reputation thanks to social media, but also to their constant drive for excellence. Beyond décor, the shop also offers clothing, jewellery, and more, and regularly hosts a wide range of creative workshops, which you can discover on their page. Good to know: the store has two additional floors above the ground level (used for workshops, the clothing section, and more).
A little anecdote: I encouraged them to set up in Mons because I knew it would work — and it has! It’s great to see high-quality, inspiring shops like this one in Mons.

Rue du Miroir, 29 - 7000 Mons
Here, we’re in a concept store offering eco-friendly and locally made products. The shop draws inspiration from Scandinavia and the slow living philosophy. For your information, it has recently added an upper floor. Thanks to the layout of the building and its interior design, it truly feels like stepping into a home, which makes it much easier to picture how certain items will fit into your own space. The shop also hosts a few workshops throughout the year, as well as special events, particularly to mark the start of the festive season.

Grand-Place - 7000 Mons
What can be said about this stunning chain that has enjoyed remarkable success since opening? The façade is beautiful, just like the interior of the store. You’ll find home décor and everyday items, along with seasonal collections that evolve throughout the year. On top of that, the shop also offers indoor and outdoor plants and flowers, bringing even more life to the space.
I was already a fan of the brand in general, but in Mons, the location on the Grand-Place and this impressive building make it a truly exceptional place.
I’m also delighted to hear independent home décor retailers welcoming this opening, aware that this brand is complementary to their own.

Rue des Fripiers, 19 - 7000 Mons
This is a home décor store, but also a 250 m² furniture shop that has been a staple in downtown Mons for over 23 years. For those who don’t know, the store has a very interesting upper floor. It’s also the only shop in the city centre offering Baobab candles and accessories, for what it’s worth.
I’d also like to emphasize that I highly recommend stepping inside — there’s truly something for every budget. It’s a design store that feels right at home in a major city like Brussels.

Rue des Fripiers, 7 - 7000 Mons
At Mooie, my mother and I immediately fell in love with this colourful shop, perfectly visible on a street where the cobblestones are painted in vibrant hues. The two window displays are always beautifully styled. You can find a bit of everything at Mooie; it’s the kind of store you’d expect to see in Antwerp, for example.
My personal favourite, without a doubt, is their collection of trompe-l’œil vases — shaped like milk cartons, orange juice cartons, coffee mugs… Right now, they also have a lovely selection of Playmobil items. You’ll also find tableware, candles, jewellery, and more.

Rue du Hautbois, 16 - 7000 Mons
This is a beautiful florist that has been a staple in our charming city centre for over 15 years. She offers a wide selection of fresh flowers, dried flowers (one of her specialties), and seasonal décor items. It was unthinkable for me not to highlight her in the décor scene in Mons. Many of her arrangements can also be found in shops and restaurants throughout Mons.

Whether it’s for decorating your Christmas tree or giving as a gift, you’ll find local Mons products (drinks, biscuits, candies…), beautiful lamps, mugs, magnets, posters, frames, books, clothing, and much more.
It’s such a pleasure to have a lovely shop celebrating Mons in one of the city’s most beautiful streets.

Rue de Nimy, 34 - 7000 Mons
This store has been offering Belgian and European craftsmanship for over 10 years. It’s a charming creator’s shop, and you really have to visit to experience its appeal.
Every item has its own story, and there’s a soul to this boutique that’s truly uplifting. My personal favourite here is the tableware from the brand Egg Back Home — I have the cloud mug, and it instantly brightens up my mornings.

Rue des Fripiers, 22bis - 7000 Mons
This is one of the newest décor and accessories stores to open in Mons. Inside, you’ll find candles, scented sticks, jewellery, Korean skincare products, as well as large vases and artificial flowers.
Now, I’m not usually a big fan of artificial flowers, but here I was impressed by their quality. It’s perfect for people who don’t have a green thumb, as well as for large halls and hospitality venues.

Rue des Groseilliers, 14 - 7000 Mons
This is a small décor shop that may be unknown to some, yet Véronique’s store is well worth a visit. She decided to transform an old family home into a boutique for home décor and accessories. She even developed the upper floor in response to customer requests. She pays close attention to trends and her clients’ needs, always ready with great suggestions in the store.
It’s rare to leave this shop without picking up a little new decoration for your home.

This is a must-visit on Mons’ pedestrian street for finding the perfect gift. Of course, you’ll find a wide selection of cards for every occasion, as well as Yankee Candle products, Terre d’Oc teas, Pylônes items, and much more. Each season brings a lovely curated selection of decorations for your home.

This shop offers candles, wax melts, tealight holders, and personalized gifts. Right now, there are some delightful candle scents, such as Kiss Me Under the Mistletoe, Galette des Rois, Pine, Chocolate Truffle, Candied Chestnuts, Panettone, and By the Fireplace.
What’s great is that if you already have a container that previously held a candle, you can bring it in to have it refilled. It’s both economical and eco-friendly, which is definitely worth highlighting.

Some people might forget, but our tourist office has a lovely little shop inside on the right. You’ll find must-have local products from our region, like Chant d’Éole, Mont des Anges, Mons Gin… as well as souvenirs for both kids and adults. And why not treat yourself to the culture pack available here, either solo or as a duo?

I couldn’t skip mentioning this major chain in the heart of Mons. Each season, whether it’s Halloween or Christmas, there are some standout pieces. I don’t always love everything, but I have to admit that you can always find something to brighten up your home.
I think this chain can complement the many independent stores I’ve shared in this article.
(P.S.: there are also some great finds at Zeeman, Wibra, and HEMA along Mons’ pedestrian street.)
