An immersion in the heart of biodiversity
Throughout this forest walk, you will have the opportunity to admire a wide variety of tree species such as ash, beech and hornbeam. Wildlife is equally present: with a little discretion and luck, you may spot forest birds such as the great spotted woodpecker or the Eurasian jay, as well as typical regional mammals like the red squirrel or the roe deer.
An educational and collaborative trail
This walking route in the Colfontaine forest was designed with a participatory and educational approach. It is the result of a collaboration between:
- The Municipality of Colfontaine
- The Children’s Council of Colfontaine
- The Hauts-Pays Natural Park
- The Walloon Public Service – Department of Nature and Forestry
The development of the trail also benefited from the expertise of Mr André Descamps, CNB nature guide, who contributed to enhancing the natural and educational features of the site.
