Rue du Nimy - 7000 Mons
This restaurant offers Korean cuisine 🇰🇷🇰🇵, located at the top of Rue de Nimy. Since its opening, it has been a real success, which is great to see. I’ve already recommended it to quite a few people, and I’ve only ever received positive feedback.
I usually start with the Korean fried chicken as a starter. For the main course, it really depends on my mood, but the photos of the dishes on the menu make choosing much easier… and especially tempting.
For dessert, I really enjoy the bingsu, a Korean shaved ice dessert.
The restaurant also benefits from an ideal location, between the Théâtre Royal de Mons and the Plaza.

Rue de la Coupe - 7000 Mons
Finally, a true Spanish-flavoured restaurant 🇪🇸 in the heart of Mons (Rue de la Coupe). Thanks to Étienne and Manuel, it’s now a reality. From start to finish, the meal is a real journey.
I wasn’t very familiar with Spanish cuisine, but over the past two years I’ve travelled to Spain several times, for a wedding and for holidays. I have to say that this place captures all the warmth of the welcome and the food I experienced there.
It’s clearly the type of cuisine Mons was missing, and it has managed to stand out in a region largely dominated by Italian restaurants. You start with a good homemade sangria and tapas to share.
For the main course, if you’re not familiar with this cuisine, don’t hesitate to ask the staff for advice — they’ll guide you perfectly.

Chaussée de Maubeuge 225, 7022 Mons
Talking about restaurants in Mons that make you travel without mentioning Masary’s would simply not make sense. Located in Hyon (Greater Mons), this establishment is, in my eyes, one of the most beautiful in the region in terms of décor and atmosphere.
It would be easy to imagine a place like this in Brussels. People come here above all for a true experience, built around a well-defined concept. While prices are slightly higher, both the quality of the dishes and the service fully live up to expectations.
Sharing is also an essential part of the experience: you usually start with several small plates to share as starters. For the main course, it depends on the seasonal menu, but fish and meat dishes are among the highlights.
As for desserts, they are both delicious and especially photogenic.

Grand-Place - 7000 Mons
At Maximes, on the Grand-Place of Mons, you’re transported all the way to Greece 🇬🇷.
On sunny days in particular, it’s a real pleasure to enjoy the terrace and the restaurant’s Greek specials.
People mainly come here to have a good time. A well-filled pita paired with a glass of Retsina white wine… just writing it already makes you hungry. Sometimes, the simplest things are the best.
The restaurant offers a variety of mezze and set menus, enough to suit every craving. It’s a much-loved spot among locals, and has been part of Mons for many years.

Grand-Place - 7000 Mons
We continue on the beautiful Grand-Place of Mons with the Lebanese restaurant Les Portes d’Orient 🇱🇧.
Everything here is homemade, and you can truly feel a genuine desire to take guests on a journey, both through the food and the warm welcome.
We recently had the chance to enjoy a generous mezze with oriental flavours, which delighted our taste buds.
I had already heard many positive reviews and really wanted to try this place, which was previously located at the top of Rue de Nimy.
