For Vincent van Gogh, walking was a truly creative act: a way to observe nature, to be moved by the emotions inspired by the landscape, and to nourish his artistic vision. This walk-and-talk invites participants to explore this intimate connection between walking and landscape, so essential to his pictorial approach.
In resonance with the exhibition “David Hockney. The Song of the Earth” at the Museum of Fine Arts, which highlights the deep relationship between art, nature, and music, this activity offers a dialogue between past and present. Like Hockney or Mahler, Van Gogh saw in nature an inexhaustible source of inspiration and spirituality.
After an introduction at the Maison Van Gogh, a reflective walk through the surrounding area will extend the experience — living walking as an opening to emotion and contemplation.
