Starting Saturday 4 October 2025, the CAP/Museum of Fine Arts will host the exceptional exhibition “David Hockney. The Song of the Earth” – an immersive experience blending visual art, music and poetry, inspired by Gustav Mahler’s famous symphony The Song of the Earth, composed in 1907–1908.

About the activity

An ode to nature through the works of great masters

This unique exhibition centres on the work of British painter David Hockney, echoing the universal themes explored by Mahler: nature as a source of life, inspiration, and reflection in the face of the human condition.

In dialogue with Hockney, visitors will discover masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh, Edvard Munch, Constantin Meunier, and a selection of Symbolist painters. Their sensitive and poetic landscapes deeply resonate with the cycle of the seasons and the melancholy of mortality – key themes of the symphony.
