Excursion: On the trail of the Battle of Mons

Set off on the trail of the Battle of Mons in August 1914 during an immersive day. The day begins at the Mons Memorial Museum, where objects and testimonies will immerse you in the poignant stories of the Great War. Then, during a guided tour, you will discover iconic locations of the battle and understand the stakes of this historical confrontation. A unique experience to honour the memory of those who shaped the history of Mons and the region.

Programme of the excursion

• 10am Welcome and guided visit of the WWI-tour at the Mons Memorial Museum
• 12pm Lunch in a restaurant in the city center or in the region
• 2pm Guided tour aboard the coach of the group of the major sites of the Battle of Mons of 23 August 1914
• 5pm Return to Mons (or 6pm if the tour is extended to Audregnies)
