Rue des soeurs noires, 19 - 7000 Mons
When someone mentions an Italian restaurant, this is often the first one that comes to mind. I have some great memories of spending time there with friends and family. It’s a very popular restaurant in the region, particularly for its terrace, which makes you feel like you’re on holiday (I actually mentioned this restaurant in my article about Mons’ terraces worth discovering).
Inside, I love the Italian canteen-style atmosphere. I also like how the large windows let in plenty of light and allow you to see what’s going on outside.
As for the food, the restaurant serves pizzas and delicious antipasti 🍕. It’s also worth noting that they offer group menus with excellent value for money.

Rue des Sœurs Noires, 15 - 7000 Mons
This restaurant is just a few metres away from Le Bravo. It’s often fully booked, so make sure to reserve a table if you’re keen to give it a try!
The restaurant offers a menu of Italian dishes, including a daily special that keeps regular customers coming back for more. During my last visit, I particularly enjoyed the antipasti platter 🥓, which I found a little different from those served at other Italian restaurants in the region.
In general, once you discover this place, you’ll find yourself coming back time and time again.

Chaussée Roi Baudouin 101, 7030 Saint-Symphorien
Talking about Italian restaurants without mentioning Bella Venezia would be unthinkable! This restaurant is located in Saint-Symphorien, in the Greater Mons area.
It’s well known for its pasta dishes prepared in a wheel of cheese 🧀, which have earned it a reputation far beyond the Borinage region. New specials are regularly featured on social media, and they all look equally tempting.
The great thing is that what you see on social media is exactly what you get on your plate!
One last tip: make sure you don’t leave without trying one of their desserts 🍨!

Rue des Fripiers, 28 - 7000 Mons
At this well-known restaurant on Rue des Fripiers, people come for quality Italian food and an authentic Italian atmosphere 🥟
The duo of Ludo in the kitchen and Andrea on the floor works wonderfully together. Andrea is a real asset to the restaurant: his cheerful personality and playful madness make him an unforgettable character who is an essential part of the place’s identity.
Well known on the local food scene for having moved several times, they have finally returned to Mons city centre to share their love of Italy with their customers.

Grand-Place, 17 - 7000 Mons
This Italian restaurant is located on Mons’ beautiful Grand-Place and boasts a lovely terrace where you can enjoy the view.
What I particularly like about this place is its small menu, which is a good sign of homemade cooking, with the owner’s mum in charge in the kitchen. Both the main menu and the daily specials are equally tempting.
Here, you really get that warm, family-run Italian atmosphere we all love, with mum cooking up a storm in the kitchen and Giulian, among others, looking after the guests. He brings a modern and creative touch to the restaurant, which is very much appreciated, particularly through the cocktail suggestions, events and social media presence…

Place du Béguinage, 13 - 7000 Mons
This restaurant is ideally located on one of Mons’ charming little squares, Place du Béguinage, best known for its Sunday market. There’s also a small car park right across from the restaurant.
Here, you’ll find an Italian restaurant with a varied menu featuring a range of dishes, pasta and pizzas 🍝🍕, offering something for everyone, whether you’re dining alone or coming with a group.
On Sunday lunchtimes, it’s a lovely spot to stop for a drink or a bite to eat after browsing the market. The market brings a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to the square, where locals gather and enjoy the moment.
