Rue du Hautbois, 7000 Mons
This is clearly the first place that comes to mind when someone mentions brunch in Mons – and it was definitely something the city was missing. The mother-and-daughter duo behind Ginger & Rosemary has brought a breath of fresh air to the local scene.
A brunch menu is available for €29 including savoury dishes, sweet treats, a dessert, a hot drink and a cold drink. Each month also features a few additional suggestions.
When you sit inside and look outside, you almost feel like you’re in Vieux-Lille. The Rue du Hautbois has a similar atmosphere, with lovely nearby shops such as Labeye, Vir Auvert and the Florilège bookshop.
It’s also a dog-friendly place. Brunch is served from Thursday to Sunday.

Rue de la Chaussée 37, 7000 Mons
This brunch spot offers generous and indulgent American-style brunches. You’ll find pancakes (among the best in Mons) as well as savoury waffles, which are the house speciality. Through the food, the atmosphere, the décor and even the social media presence, the sense of escape is complete.
Many English-speaking visitors also enjoy the fact that conversations can easily happen in English here.
Brunch is served on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
PS: during the Christmas season, the decorations are particularly warm and festive.

Grand-Place, 7000 Mons
This is the newest brunch spot in town. The menu includes pancakes, toasts, filled croissants and açai bowls.
Since the end-of-year holidays, an additional upstairs tasting area has been added. It’s perfect for brunch, offering a lovely view of the Main Square of Mons. I especially like the decoration upstairs – it invites you to relax and travel.
Brunch is served from Thursday to Monday (not on Tuesday and Wednesday).

Rue d'Havré 10, 7000 Mons
A true brunch classic. This location is ideally situated just a few metres from the Main Square of Mons.
The brunch options are varied and create a cosy “feel-at-home” atmosphere. Personally, it’s always a pleasure for me to step inside this place. It’s simple, tasty and welcoming. They also offer several options for people with food intolerances.

Rue de Nimy 92, 7000 Mons
If you’re looking for a colourful brunch in an equally colourful setting, this is the place to go. This is a very Instagram-friendly spot that will especially appeal to younger visitors.
Located on Rue de Nimy, a street popular with students who like to stop here. It’s also one of the few brunch spots of this kind in that street.
In summer, I particularly enjoy the sunny terrace.
